I am getting back into creating more art and developed this website to help archive and move various work around my house.
I learned art from great teachers in primary school and professors at Southern Illinois University. I have experience working in websites and graphic design but am moving away from digital work for now. During COVID I found many great chefs and artists on Instagram that were creatively inspiring and pushed me to get back into these hobbies. In 2022 I started to play around with tie-dye and cross stitch embroidery. I bought a sewing machine in 2024 and started making bags from designs on line but the materials and costs were hard to manage.
The beautiful paint sections in art stores drew me to try watercolor in 2025. I love to paint nature and particularly birds to appreciate these interesting and pervasive animals. I like to use Winsor and Newton Professional along with Sennelier L’Aquarelle tube watercolor. I have a da Vinci Casaneo #0 quill that I used a lot when starting to paint. Now I have a Princeton Neptune #10 round travel brush and Raphael #0 round travel brush that I do most of my watercolor with. I find Strathmore 400 series watercolor paper to be quite acceptable with Arches watercolor paper being a noticeable step up in quality and price.
I hope you appreciate my work 🙂
